Let's Get Inspiredwith Art on Saturday! Artist of the Month for August is Niki de Saint-Phalle 10:30-11:15am every Saturday for kids ages 3-8 years old and their caregivers. This month we will be building a sculpture to display at Kidzu. Each week we will do a different part of the construction: Sept 4: Paint the sculpture & Add mosaic touches. Cost: $2 per child. Space is limited. Same day registration is usually possible.

Sept 11: Make Mobile, Sept 18: Abstract Art, Sept 25: Miniature Circus Cost: $2 per child. Space is limited. Same day registration is usually possible.
Sunday, September 12, starting at 1pm: Back-to-School Book Giveaway Thanks to the Friends of the Carrboro Library, Kidzu will have a nice variety of books to give away. 1 per child until the books are gone.
Thursday, September 16, 4:30-6pm: "Functional Flowers" Join Kidzu & Ackland Art Museum Look for natural decorations and patterns in vases, bowls, and other useful items in the Ackland’s galleries, and work together to make a plain vase beautiful. At Kidzu, use create vase using glass jars, colored tissue paper, yarn and polymer clay. $5 per child, ages 4-9
Thursday, September 23rd, 4-5pm: It's a Small World After All! Join Kidzu at the Morehead Planetarium as we explore the new Nikon microphotography Small World exhibit and discover the beauty and complexity of life as seen through a light microscope. We'll continue to play with perspective in the Zoom In exhibit and create cool slides of our own! Ages 4 and up. $10 per child.
Sunday, September 19, 10am-5pm: The Great Shoot Out!! A benefit event for Kidzu and a fun way to get a great professional portrait by one of NC’s kid-friendly photographers. Sessions are 15-30 minutes and can be booked anytime 10am-5pm. Sessions can feature up to seven people, pets etc... Hosted at The NC Botanical Gardens, where each photographer will have his/her own area at the garden to serve as your backdrop. Go to http://greatshootout.com and click on “reserve your session.”
Sunday, September 19, 1:30-2pm: Bilingual Storytime Program hosted in both English & Spanish. For details see "ongoing activities" below.
Wednesday, September 29, 4-5pm: Science Alive Gross Science Join Kidzu staff for this great drop-in program. Free with admission & for members.

Baby with Erica Berry: Friday's 9am (Sept 17th-Nov 19th) Jammin Baby is pleased to present this Music Together® 10-week program for families with children birth through 5 years. Music Together® is the pioneer in early childhood music curriculum. Only a few spots left! Ongoing Activities:
Learn some Spanish/English at Kidzu! Free Bilingual (Spanish/English) Storytime. Join us September 19th at 1:30pm. Once a month Kidzu will host a free bilingual storytime filled with interactive and educational activities games & stories and a fun craft project too. Presented in Spanish and English for children ages 2 to 8 with an adult. First-time museum visitors that attend this program will receive free admission to the museum for the rest of the day. Hora de cuentos bilingüe (espanol/ingles). Gratis! el 19 de septiembre. Kidzu se presentan un hora de cuentas, en español e inglés para los años de niños 2 a 8 con un adulto.
