July Special Events:  

Thursday, July 2, 3:30-4:30pm: Star Spangled Tie-Dye Event Join us for this fun event and make stunning Fourth of July t-shirts to show off your patriotic spirit and creativity. We’ll supply the white t-shirts, but you are welcome to bring your own.   Fee: $12 per child pair. For children 5-10 years. Space is limited and prepaid registration is required. Friday, July 10, 4:30 – 5:30pm: Amazing Alphabets:  an Ackland-Kidzu Collaboration Celebrate the alphabet through the work of the artist Aldwyth who created a series of boxes, each decorated with images beginning with a single letter of the alphabet.  Kids in this program will examine selections from this series and other works on display at the Ackland. Then they travel to Kidzu Children’s Museum, where children embellish boxes with images of the letter of their choice. Fee: $5 per child/adult pair. For children 4-8 years. Wednesday, July 25, 4:00-5:00pm: Garden Party Event You'll Dig all the Fun at this Party! Activities will include flower pot decorating crafts, Bug Bingo and Bug Catch games, and special butterfly treats that should make for a "hoe" lot of fun. We hope you can Bee here for the fun! $5/child (Ages 3-8). Space is limited and prepaid registration is required. Call Kidzu Children's Museum at 919-933-1455 to sign-up.

Express Yourself! Every Saturday: Children can experience the joy of making and experiencing all types of art. Express Yourself! classes will be held every Saturday 10:45-11:15am and 11:30am-12:00pm. Classes $2.00 per child (3-8 years old). Space is limited, so sign-up now. Don't miss all the great projects. See PDF above for information about specific classes.     

Free Bilingual (Spanish/English) Storytime. Join us Saturday, July 11 & 18 at 2:00pm Twice a month Kidzu will host a free bilingual storytime filled with interactive and educational activities and a fun craft project. Presented in Spanish and English for children ages 2 to 8 with an adult. First-time museum visitors that attend this program will receive free admission to the museum for the rest of the day. Hora de cuentos bilingüe (espanol/ingles). Gratis! Los sábado a las dos de la tarde, el 11 y 18 de Julio. Dos veces por mes, Kidzu se presentan un hora de cuentas, en español e inglés para los años de niños 2 a 8 con un adulto.
