Throwback Thursday: Mix it Up with Sandra Elliot!

Way back in May 2015, the Makery was excited to welcome Sandra Elliot, a Chapel Hill based artist, to share her artwork and painting expertise with our visitors for Mix it Up in the Makery! After introducing herself and sharing her creative process, Ms. Elliot took our visitors on a tactile tour around the museum where many of her paintings are on display. See if you can find all 3 of them on your next visit!

Full of Ms. Elliot’s knowledge, our visitors were excited to get back to the Makery and get painting! In the pictures above, you can see a few of our littlest visitors enjoying the bright colors and designs, inspired a la Sandra Elliot.

Visitors of all ages had a great time learning about the different types of flowers and nature our hard-working pollinators help to grow. With the help of guest artist Charlie White, program participants collaborated to create a beautiful mural by learning the art of drip and splatter painting.
