Parents' Night Out

Select Fridays & Saturdays @ 6 PM – 9 PM

Parents, you deserve a night out, so leave the childcare to us! Kids will exercise their minds, bodies, imagination, and independence with a fun–filled night, including exhibit play and exploration and dinner from Alfredo’s Pizza Villa. This drop-off event is for ages 3 – 9 (must be potty independent). Cost is $30 per child. Add early drop-off at 5:30pm for only $5 more per child. Advance registration is required. Kidzu members receive 20% off!

Adaptive Play

3rd Wednesdays @ 5:30 PM – 7 PM

This FREE monthly program is specifically for children with neurodivergent needs, such as developmental disabilities. Siblings and other family members are encouraged to attend and participate as well. Sensory-Friendly Nights offer the chance to explore the Museum without the noise, large crowds, and stimulation of the typical museum visit. We limit the number of families who can attend and provide sanitized adaptive equipment such as noise-reducing headphones, timers, fidget toys, and visual schedules. This program is geared toward children ages 2 – 10.

School's Out Camp

The kids are out for a teacher workday, and you’re still expected at the office? We’ve got you covered! Campers play and explore in Kidzu’s exhibits, tinker in our Makery, and engage in STEAM-based projects together. These camps are for ages 4-8.

Summer Camp

Join us for a summer filled with creative exploration, tinkering, and making! We have an exciting lineup of 11 camp weeks for ages 4-8, including our popular Robots & Rockets and Around the World camps. There’s so much to discover at Camp Kidzu, and we can’t wait to see YOU!

Junior Gardeners

Thursdays and Saturdays, 9:30 – 10:30 AM

Beginning in April, drop by the garden for hands-on outdoor learning. Explore the garden, meet some pollinators, dig in the dirt, decorate our fairy garden, and participate in activities. Thanks to a generous donation from the Chapel Hill Garden Club, Junior Gardeners will expand in 2024 to Thursday AND Saturday mornings! On Saturdays visitors will have the opportunity to visit our free Make It To Market program at the Chapel Hill Farmer’s Market, then continue the learning by walking over to Junior Gardeners. Thanks to this donation, we will also be adding new crafts and other activities!

Garden Parties

April to November, join us every month for free themed garden parties! Listen to music, participate in family-friendly crafts and activities, meet some special guests, and more.
